Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
macOS says "cannot be opened" – what do I do?
Because the Hub is distributed outside the App Store, macOS may show a warning on first launch. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click “Open Anyway.” This is a one-time step.
The Hub asks for my password during installation – is that normal?
Yes, this is expected. Moving plugin files into the system folder /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/ requires your Mac password once. This is a macOS security requirement, not specific to the Hub.
The Hub asks where to save samples – which folder should I choose?
Choose any folder that works for you — an external drive is a great option if your system drive has limited space. The Hub remembers your choice and uses it for all future downloads automatically.
I can't see my purchased plugins in the Hub
Make sure you’re signed in with the same account you used to purchase. If the issue persists, contact us at contact@ancient-sounds.com.
My DAW doesn't detect the plugin after installation
Restart your DAW and rescan plugins (usually under Preferences → Plugins → Rescan). Plugins are installed in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3 and /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components.
